POSTGRADUATE AND MATURE STUDENT LUNCH! Thursday 27th October

Hello everyone!
There will be a postgraduate and mature student lunch at 1pm on Thursday 27 October at the Contact Theatre (the building just behind Academy 1). This will be a great opportunity to get to know other postgraduate and mature students and to let us know what kind of events you’d like to see us organise as your postgrad and mature students’ reps. £5 towards the cost of childcare can be given to students with caring responsibilities. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about this. Hopefully see you all on Thurs 27!

Robin and Jennie

PS – Here is a contact number for us if you have any trouble finding the Contact Theatre: 07866727641

BOOKGROUP! Friday 23rd October 7pm LGBT Library

The UMSU LGBT Bookgroup is an informal gathering of people who like reading, LGBT issues and/or reading about LGBT issues. You don’t need to be a huge reader to come along – you just need to find a bit of time here and there to do a bit of reading before each meeting. It’s all very casual and friendly, and you can come as often or as little as you like.

We meet in the Peer Support Centre at the Barnes Wallis building, the North Campus students’ union (http://www.manchester.ac.uk/visitors/travel/maps/numerical/-number 9 on this map). It’s got comfy sofas, is fully accessible and contains the LGBT Library & Safespace. Our introductory meeting will be on Friday 23 October at 7pm; we’ll get to know each other, decide which books to read and maybe have some cake if you’re lucky. We’ll then be meeting fortnightly on Wednesdays, starting on the 28th.

If you’d like more info, want someone to meet you before it starts, or just fancy a chat (we’d love to as well!), send me or Andi a message – you’ll find us in the committee list on the main group. Hope to see you soon!

Sam- Joe, cake is essential! :-P
